The Correct Way To Brush Your Teeth

YOU HAVE BEEN BRUSHING for years! In fact, you can’t even fall asleep without brushing your teeth. You might even consider yourself a teeth-brushing professional, but are you really that good? Although it’s basic, a lot of people don’t brush their teeth correctly.

Here Are Five Rules To Follow:

#1. Brush For At Least 2 Minutes Twice A Day

We recommend once before breakfast and right before you go to bed. If you can, brush about a half-hour to an hour after lunch as well. Brushing for 2 minutes gives you enough time to really brush off that plaque and bacteria in hard-to-reach spaces.

#2. Brush In Circles

Using a circular motion, clean all parts of the tooth– the outer surface, the inner surface, and the chewing surface.

#3. Don’t Scrub Too Hard

You can tell if you’re scrubbing too hard if your toothbrush looks gnarly and battered within the first couple of weeks of use. Brushing too hard can erode tooth enamel and cause damage.

#4. Pay Attention To Your Gums

Tip your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle and, in a circular motion, gently brush excess food or bacteria away from your gums.

#5. Brush Or Scrape Your Tongue

Your tongue carries a lot of plaque and bacteria. If you brush/scrape your tongue every time you brush your teeth, your mouth will be a lot fresher and healthier.
