Let’s Talk About Wisdom Teeth

“OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND?” Let’s hope that’s not the case with your wisdom teeth! “Wisdom teeth” are what we call your set of third molars. They usually start growing during the late teenage years, or early 20’s.

What’s The Big Deal With Wisdom Teeth?

Sometimes wisdom teeth can grow in and not cause any problems. This happens when the mouth is fully grown and the teeth are all properly aligned. However, most of the time wisdom teeth can cause some major problems. Here are just a few of the issues that can be caused by wisdom teeth growing incorrectly:

  • damage to adjacent teeth
  • crowding of the teeth
  • damage to the jawbone
  • damage to the nerves
  • headaches
  • infections (in the case of a partial eruption)
