The Invisalign Process: A Better Way to Straighten Teeth

Braces are the most common way to straighten teeth. They’re often associated with junior high school, a bit of pain, and two years’ worth of orthodontist appointments, at least. However, that’s not the only way to create a perfect smile. There’s a new, modern approach to straightening teeth. It’s called Invisalign.

You’ve probably heard of Invisalign, but may not be sure exactly what the process entails. As a leading cosmetic dentist office in Boston, we are happy to outline the Invisalign process before you visit us.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an advanced technique for making your teeth straight. Invisalign creates a custom-made series of clear aligners specifically for you and your teeth. The aligning trays are smooth, comfortable, and virtually invisible.

Just as with normal braces, Invisalign gradually moves your teeth into the correct place over a period of time. However, Invisalign is a much more appealing process for adults who don’t want the hassles of wearing braces. It’s also for the more self-conscious teenagers who are just beginning their orthodontic experience.

How does it work?

A set of Invisalign aligners is a process with each separate aligner representing a step closer to the final result. All you have to do is wear the aligners for two weeks at a time. Every two weeks you’ll switch to a newer aligner that positions your teeth until they’re in the correct position. This process is much shorter than traditional braces because it takes only six to nine months. This process eliminates the need to see the orthodontist every six weeks to tighten your braces. It also gets rid of the painful metal brackets that can tear your lips. The best part is, that most people won’t even notice that you’re wearing them.

Invisalign is a great choice for people who are wary of traditional braces but still crave that beautiful straight smile.
